Watermelons & Rooftops
If you ask us how it started, it wasn’t some cinematic movie moment. It was a mutual, borderline obsessive love for watermelon that somehow led to hours-long conversations at her HDB roof garden.
Along the way, we quickly uncovered each other’s true habits, most notably her pre- and post-meal sweet tooth and his relentless hunt for good deals. As it turns out, we simply make sense together.
Adulting Together
Somewhere along the way, we successfully transitioned from merely hanging out to navigating life as a team, 'maturing' together, and trying our best to act responsibly.
But our absolute biggest achievement is keeping our inner child alive. No matter how serious we might seem on the outside, we always bring out the goofiness in each other behind closed doors.
Beyond Us
Getting to know each other’s roots and families brought some funny surprises, like discovering his food preferences are as deeply local as a Xi’An native, while she somehow doesn’t even enjoy Hong Kong egg tarts (How can??). We expanded our circles too, which basically means we now have twice as many friends to aggressively pressure into board game sessions.
Driven by a wanderlust to create unforgettable memories, we made it a point to continue to explore the world together while promising never to take each other for granted.
The Big Leap
Which eventually brings us to a certain surprise proposal under the beautiful Portuguese coastline (Madeira actually)! Pulling off the perfect surprise at a quiet beach that wasn't even in our original itinerary (with an undercover photographer waiting in the wings) was no easy feat. Keeping secrets (and hiding the ring) was tough, but 10/10, worth all the nerves.
Now, we are officially settling into our most exciting chapter, ready for new adventures, comfortable home rhythms, and our next big (legal) partnership!
